¿Cuál es la diferencia entre LEND y BORROW?

 'Lend' y 'Borrow'

Estas dos palabras causan alguna confusión entre las personas que están a nivel elemental o incluso a nivel pre-intermedio:

LEND = prestar; dejarle a alguien algo durante un periodo de tiempo. 

 Normalmente se le deja/presta algo a alguien: You lend to someone.

 Por ejemplo:

     I lend my friend my bike when she visits.

     I lent my neighbour some eggs the other day.

     In English class I always lend my rubber to my classmates.

     I will lend my cousin a dress for a wedding she is going to.

BORROW: Tomar/pedir prestado algo durante un periodo de tiempo.

Normalmente se toma/pide algo prestado de/a alguien: You borrow from someone.

   I borrowed €10 from my Mum.

   I borrow my sister's clothes and shoes.
   Jim borrows books from the library.

 She is lending him some money.

He is borrowing some money from her.
